Top House Member Says Mike Pence Eased His Hesitations On Backing Trump

Indiana Republican Craig Dunn said that his state’s governor, Mike Pence, “is going to be a firefighter” – extinguishing political blazes caused by presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Pence’s defense came just hours before Trump is scheduled to formally accept the Republican Party’s presidential nomination during an address centered on national security. He cut taxes repeatedly, on both individuals and businesses, and his record of economic growth is modestly good.

“I started out in the other party until I heard the voice of the 40th president and I joined the Reagan Revolution”, he said. “From cutting taxes and creating the 21st Century Scholars Program as our state’s Governor to combating unfair trade practices that threatened Hoosier jobs when he was in the U.S. Senate, Evan has always put in first”.

Also endorsing Holcomb on Friday were Senate President Pro Tem David Long of Fort Wayne, U.S. Sen. Everything from the right to life, to the right to keep and bear arms, to the rule of law depends on making sure Clinton does not get to select the replacement for the late justice Antonin Scalia, Pence said. However, they definitely have one thing in common: They desperately want to win the White House in 2016.

“The beauty of a town hall is that it’s a little more intimate and sometimes there’s back and forth”, said Habeeb. “[Pence] will bring so much to the Republican Party and help turn it around for the better”.

Those who are passed over by the committee can be restored to the ballot for the positions they withdrew from, though Indiana Republican Party Chairman Jeff Cardwell has cautioned that there are no guarantees. Pence’s team is already building out an active fundraising schedule for him, including phone time with donors – something Trump dislikes doing – and high-dollar finance events across the country.

One of them, U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks, is one of three candidates vying to replace Gov. Mike Pence as the GOP nominee for governor this year, along with Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb and U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita.

Pence was probably going to lose the IN gubernatorial race as an incumbent, primarily because of the huge number of Republicans who don’t think IN could stand another four years of having our reputation trashed, due to the policies and agendas he and his far-right cronies keep pushing.

Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb, U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks and U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita all chose to run for governor and all attended the convention. Republicans really do not have a candidate from their party in this presidential election.
