“Going forward, the best way for me to accomplish those goals is to step down as Party Chair at the end of this convention”, Wasserman Schultz said in a lengthy statement Sunday announcing her resignation, referring her desire to unify the party.

The trove exposes e-mails dated from January 2015 to May 2016, showing a clear bias of the Democratic National Convention against the former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

Wasserman Schultz also overrode the White House and the Clinton campaign in her choice of communications director for the DNC last fall.

Clinton has had a long-standing relationship with the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

“We know Debbie. No one has been more of a fighter and a champion for our values than Debbie Wasserman Schultz“. Outside the convention hall, several hundred marched down Philadelphia’s sweltering streets with signs carrying messages such as “Never Hillary“.

He also said the party leadership is united behind Clinton, unlike the Republicans whose most famous members mostly stayed home or failed to endorse Trump. She did not appear at the convention podium and later watched the proceedings from a private suite. He believes that the DNC was “at opposition to our campaign” all along, he said Sunday morning. Earlier in the evening, Sen. “We knew they were stacking the deck against Bernie from the get-go, but this type of stuff coming out is outrageous”, he said.

But like many other Sanders’ delegates, Hagan said he will work to elect Clinton president, because Trump is unqualified.

Clinton delegate Catherine Fanello wants to make sure at the end of the day, Bernie supporters will see they’ve made a difference in their party.

President Obama, who appointed Wasserman Schultz in 2011, praised her service saying that “her leadership of the DNC has meant that we had someone who brought Democrats together”. With almost 13 million voters, it is clear that Hillary Clinton will need Sanders’ full backing to win the Presidential race in November. She will not be able to attend the convention and is going to have a hard time finding a job, right?

But on the eve of Clinton’s nominating convention, some prominent Democrats, including friends of the Clintons, were openly calling on Wasserman Schultz to step down and spare the party the distraction this week.

The emails were leaked from the accounts of seven DNC officials, Wikileaks said.

Bernie Sanders tried to calm tensions among his delegates Monday at the Democratic National Convention but some weren’t in a listening mood, seething over a lengthy primary campaign and a damaging email disclosure. Tim Kaine, and defeat Trump.

“Well I think it’s outrageous but it is not a great shock to me”, he told CNN.

Donald Trump isn’t giving up the spotlight as Democrats meet in Philadelphia to formally make Hillary Clinton their presidential nominee.

One email showed the party’s finance chairman suggesting the DNC use what they assumed to be Sanders’ atheism against him in Kentucky and West Virginia, religious states where it might not play well.

The cache of emails leaked by the Wikileaks website disclosed that DNC officials explored ways to undermine Mr Sanders’ insurgent presidential campaign, including raising questions about whether the senator from Vermont, who is Jewish, was really an atheist. A trove of embarrassing leaked emails some said reveal an anti-Sanders bias at the supposedly neutral Democratic National Committee has ripped open some barely-heeled primary wound.
