Robert Griffin III Reportedly Files For Divorce From Wife

As he looks to turn things around in his professional life, Griffin has some issues in his personal life.

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and his wife of three years Rebecca Liddicoat are getting a divorce. The couple met in 2009 and got engaged in 2010. Griffin is, in fact, also going through a divorce. RGIII and his estranged wife Rebecca Liddicoat just announced this week that they’re divorcing, although there’s no word on if his new blonde love interest is the reason behind the split. Griffin’s popularity only exploded after they became engaged as he won the Heisman Trophy and was a Rookie of the Year in the NFL.

We often forget that National Football League players deal with real-life problems when they aren’t on the field.

After making a splash in his rookie season, injuries have plagued Griffin to the point where his career eventually bottomed out with the Redskins. He started Cleveland’s first preseason game, and had a decent performance.
