Nottingham Forest teenager Oliver Burke has signed a five-year contract with Bundesliga new boys Red Bull Leipzig.
The report suggests that Jose Mourinho’s men would buy Burke and loan him back to The Championship side, while it also states that German giants Bayern Munich are interested in the star.
The 19-year-old broke into the Forest side two seasons ago and established himself as a regular last term, with his club form prompting a first worldwide appearance for Scotland earlier this year.
The club drew its historic first top-flight game 2-2 away to Hoffenheim yesterday.
“He fits with the high pace and way of playing very well and will make his next sporting development step with us”.
Rangnick added that several clubs were interested in signing the midfielder.
Burke’s rapid progression has matched that of his new club.
Burke has been a key figure in Nottingham Forest’s attacking force this season, scoring four goals in five Championship fixtures.
Speaking after Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Leeds United, Forest manager Philippe Montanier had been optimistic about retaining Burke beyond the closure of Wednesday’s transfer window.
The attacker made his senior debut for Scotland on 29 March this year in a 1-0 win over Italy. “It is important that he stays at Forest and I am confident that will happen”.
