“He said he’s build a wall for us, but than he up and ran”.
One week ago, a Twitter war erupted between Donald Trump and the hosts of Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
Scarborough recently nicknamed Trump “Amnesty Don“, which exploded on Twitter. Scarborough and co. make the most of Trump’s supposed “softening” on immigration, using it as an occasion to pack “Amnesty Don” with cheeky lines like, “He’s softening, is there a pill for that?” “And yes, it’s performed by those same insane kids you’ve grown to love from Wijk bis Duurstede, Netherlands whom the natives adoringly call “Morning Joe Music, ‘ While the original version is in Dutch, the boys luckily recorded an English version of ‘Amnesty Don” for posterity last night after returning from Hamburg”.
JOHN HEILEMANN: People are saying it.
According to CNN, Scarborough worked on the lyrics to “Amnesty Don” after his morning cable show Monday, recorded the vocals and instruments with his band that afternoon, and completed the music and video production Tuesday. “Good job”, Brzezinski said.
He said it would be a country Western song. While Scarborough posted “Amnesty Don” on his own social media outlet, it was nowhere to be seen on the network-sanctioned “Morning Joe” website or Facebook page. While Scarborough used to be friendly with Trump, Trump’s hesitance to disavow KKK leaders who were supporting him soured their relationship, and since then Scarborough has hit Trump on a number of issues.
The comments come amid an escalating feud between the “Morning Joe” hosts and the Republican nominee.
Here is a sampling of the tweets from Monday, which hilariously jabbed Trump for his ambiguity and hypocrisy on immigration policies.
