Once you’ve enabled it, you should start seeing the Google Play icon in the taskbar of your Chromebook. Now the internet search giant has brought Google Play to the stable channel of Chrome OS 53 version 53.0.2785.103 with a beta update.
The updates are available for the Chromebooks, but it does not necessary mean that all the Chromebook users will have the access to the Store. Google Play access is now available in the default “stable channel” on Chrome OS, though it still has some limitations.
This continues to be a gradual rollout – even on the stable channel, Google is limiting the launch in multiple ways.
Android apps on Chrome OS are not a new thing. Accept and complete everything to experience the Play Store in its full glory. This obviously raised a few eyebrows since it was these three devices that had received support for Google Play and Android app in the beta channel.
Android users can now download Google Play Store 7.0.12 for free, according to the latest news coming from Google.
Venture Beat cited that Chromebook Pixel 2015 would also soon to receive the update. However, this feature is still in its beta phase so be careful about utilizing the program. The store then arrived for those on the Chrome OS Dev channel in June, followed by the Beta channel in August. Google Pixel (2015) has not been included in the official announcement, and there is no official statement until now as to when it would get the store in Stable channel.
It seems that app and game stability has improved since the latest Google Play Store version has been released for Chrome OS, but the developers still have a good amount of work to do before all apps and games that you can install via the official Android store will run without any problems.
