Of course, I am kidding-there are plenty.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson had surgery Thursday to fix a torn meniscus in his knee.
Sam Bradford surpassed all expectations on Sunday night when he took hold of the offense after two weeks of practice and was so sharp in a victory over the Green Bay Packers.
If all goes well and Peterson recovers quickly, as he is known to do, he could still potentially have a huge contribution to the team’s success in the playoffs.
The Panthers are coming off a win of their own, but it was of the shootout variety.
It certainly didn’t come as a surprise Friday afternoon, but the Minnesota Vikings announced they had moved Adrian Peterson to injured reserve.
Although there’s still room for improvement, the Vikings running backs experienced fewer defenders swarming. “This team has a lot of fight, a lot of heart, a lot of character”, head coach Mike Zimmer said after beating the Panthers on the road. Take our shots when we get a chance.
SPECIAL TEAMS: A – Marcus Sherels jump-started the team when it had one first down and had given up 10 points in two Carolina possessions. Now, the Minnesota Vikings don’t need to make that designation and can play it by ear with Peterson from here on out.
“That’s why we have 53 guys here, so that we can try to win as a team”.
Matt Asiata will get the start Sunday against Carolina, but he’s expected to split carries with Jerick McKinnon. That year the Vikings offense was ranked 14th in rushing with 112.8 yards per game. He ran for over 800 yards last season while playing for the Super Bowl champion Broncos.
The great challenge comes on the defensive side of the ball, where quarterback Cam Newton is a “big” threat. He tore the anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee on December 24, 2011, but was full-go at the start of the 2012 season, threatened the single-season rushing record with 2,097 yards and was named NFL MVP.
The Vikings have sent three starters into surgery this week.
Mike Zimmer has reached 3-0 while losing his franchise quarterback, a Hall of Fame running back and his starting left tackle. “He’s definitely a guy”. Even if you scrambled to the waiver wire to get him, or burned up your FAAB dollars to acquire him, you should keep him planted firmly on the bench this weekend.
“We feel like we can be one of the best ever to wear purple”.
Looking for a little good news out of Winter Park?
So what will people be talking about when it comes to Week 4 games? However, the Vikings can cut him at any time before that without incurring any sort of dead money hit on their salary cap. “They’re earned in this league”, Bradford said.
