Donald Trump praises his ‘winning’ first debate performance

“I thought he was fine”, Trump told on Fox News yesterday. “I didn’t think it was nice”, Trump said, before repeating his claim that he chose not to bring up the salacious subject because he didn’t “feel comfortable doing it with” Chelsea Clinton present at Monday’s debate at Hofstra University.

The poll also had good news for U.S. Senate candidate and former GOP presidential hopeful Marco Rubio. That finding was echoed by top Republican strategists, presidential historians and pollsters surveyed by NJ Advance Media on Monday.

For many undecided viewers the televised debate was likely their first serious consideration of who should be the next leader of the free world.

Eighty percent of the voters polled said they watched the debate.

After spending the past few days preparing for the debate, Trump and Clinton were back on the trail Tuesday, with Trump visiting Florida and Clinton heading to North Carolina.

“Her aides took the Fifth Amendment and her ring leaders were given immunity, and if you’re not guilty of a crime what do you need immunity for?” he said. But there was no question that she was warning voters that candidate Trump would be the same as President Trump.

Trump had only one chance to make a first impression on this scale, and while he wasn’t awful, the truth is that he wasn’t almost good enough.

“And I think there may be a couple of reasons”. I was also holding back, I didn’t want to do anything to embarrass her. Reporter: Trump putting his own spin on that night. Clinton was keen to pick up on this, and she quickly responded, nearly bragging about how easy it was for her to upset Trump. The Republican presidential nominee said the museum is a “really attractive place”, and then called it the “Smithsonian national museum of American history, African American art”.

Trump’s support for law enforcement and effective practices such as “stop and frisk” was clear in his answer to a question about improving race relations. They are crying foul after the first debate, and while some are accusing the team of just whining about unfairness, the belief that the debate questioning was one-sided is not totally without substance. It was these punches, the ones that were parenthetical to Trump’s argument that Hillary needs to worry about. While it has just four electoral votes, New Hampshire is important enough to both candidates that each stopped in the state this week.

While there are those who would say Clinton may have won the debate, since the strategy of irritating Trump paid off in the end, I would disagree. As a result, Trump spent the last 70 minutes or so either contradicting Clinton (during her speaking time), interrupting the moderator or ranting off topic.

CNN charged more than $55,000 for 30-second ad spots as part of packages ranging from $800,000 to $1 million that included future debates and election night, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Ultimately this election will come down to who voters see as the lesser of two evils.
