Jean Petit believes his former colleague Arsene Wenger would do well managing at worldwide level.

Football Association Chief Executive Officer Martin Glenn has said Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is one of the most suitable candidates for the role of England manager.

Asked if he sees himself as Arsenal manager celebrating his 25 anniversary at the club, Wenger replied: “I don’t know”.

“I rule nothing out because I want to work and I want to do well”.

“But I accept as well that it can finish tomorrow”. “You don’t keep, from his experience, just the a year ago”. “But it can stop any day”.

That leaves open the possibility of Wenger taking charge of England for the trip to Glasgow – if he decides to leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Sam Allardyce’s acrimonious departure from the Three Lions job this week has triggered widespread rumours that Wenger, who called England a “paradise for football” this week, could be approached for the vacancy.

John Cross believes Arsene Wenger’s number one priority will be to stay at Arsenal and sign a new contract.

“I like them because I think they are focused”, he said.

Wenger has not gone short of tributes in recognition of his two-decade Premier League odyssey, and Dyche offered a generous one of his own.

Arsene Wenger has likened Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez to Barcelona striker Luis Suarez.

“I do not look back”, Wenger said when asked to single out a favourite moment from his tenure. Let’s see. Maybe the Premier League is more hard than ever this year. We did a good job in our last two games, the whole team defended well.

“When you look back to when he first started, there was.it’s a stereotype, but there was a drinking culture in the game”, said Howe. I always think the next game is going to be ideal.

Rangnick’s Leipzig moved up to third in the Bundesliga with a 2-1 win over Augsburg on Friday night, which made them the first league newcomers to get through their first six games of the season unbeaten. On a lighter note he said, “If I manage England and play against France, I can not sing the French national anthem and not the English one”.

Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over FC Basel in the Champions League saw the Gunners stretch their unbeaten run to eight games, the ideal response to losing against Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
