Nashville “Gilmore Girls” fans got a little taste of Stars Hollow, Conn. Wednesday morning, as three local coffee shops were temporarily converted into the famed Luke’s Diner from the popular television series. Some camped out for the event at Avalon International Breads, and employees joined in on the action, wearing flannel shirts under their Luke’s-branded aprons. Netflix, which is broadcasting the show’s reincarnation, transformed over 200 coffee shops into Luke’s, one of the shows signature settings.

“It’s given me a lot of nostalgia feelings about the show”, said Hannah Taylor, a TCU junior writing major. “People showed up at 5 a.m. because they didn’t want to miss it, and they just hung out for a couple hours until the promotion started”.

Hundreds of people waited in line for almost two hours to experience a taste of Stars Hollow at The Golden Roast Wednesday morning.

No other locations in North Dakota or in the region are participating, according to a list of one-day-only Luke’s Diner locations listed at www.townofstarshollow.org/lukes. They were contacted by Netflix for the promotional event. The complete series is already available on the service, and the four-part revival premieres November 25.
