On Sunday, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will spar in a town-hall-style debate that will require the candidates to respond to questions from audience members.
Given all of that, there is very little hope for Trump to right the ship in Sunday’s debate, and there’s only one more debate after that for him to get it done.
Women in well-educated areas like Virginia’s 10th District – home to the wealthiest county in America – were always going to be a weak spot for Trump.
In this vein, the punditry isn’t much different than the average Trump supporter, who scores him on a curve precisely because he “tells it like it is“.
Donald Trump should not be president. “But I do certainly think it could be a deterrent for some folks”, she said.
Even before the recording of his remarks were made public, the businessman was lagging behind Clinton after an undisciplined first debate.
And if Trump tries to suggest that Clinton actively worked to discredit the women who said they had consensual sex with Bill Clinton, or to intimidate Broaddrick, there’s trouble there, too.
“Hillary Clinton took almost every precaution to ensure voters would never know what she told investment bankers, lobbyists and corporate executives in dozens of closed-door paid speeches before running for president”.
He had already been seriously hurt by a sloppy performance in his first debate with Clinton on September 26, a damaging Twitter war against a former Miss Universe and reports he may have paid no income taxes for 18 years.
Trump has already defended so many other things, including avoiding paying taxes and cheering on the Great Recession, as proof of his good business sense that adding this to the list would hardly constitute a new low. Her lawsuit against Clinton was dismissed in 2001 and criminal charges were never filed. Bill Clinton has long denied the accusations. Given Hillary Clinton’s support of keeping Obamacare, and the fact healthcare was not brought up in the last debate, expect Clinton and Trump to be pressed on the issue by Cooper and Raddatz.
Trump’s own wife Melania said she was offended by her husband’s “unacceptable and offensive” comments, caught on a hot mic just months after the two married. At the debate she would do well to remain low key, contemptuous of Trump but not angry.
“Hillary Clinton and her kind have run our country into the ground”, Mr. Trump continued.
And his top Sunday show surrogate, Rudy Giuliani, tried to deflect concerns while showing contrition.
He said “the unbelievable rhetoric” from Trump has been “disturbing”. Obama said “it tells you that he’s insecure enough that he pumps himself up by putting other people down”. The party is nearly certainly stuck when it comes to the ballot, but as of yesterday, the RNC appeared to be shifting its energies into supporting down-ballot candidates, potentially leaving Trump on his own. His own running mate, Mike Pence, said Saturday he can’t defend Trump’s comments.
In them she says she’s for free trade and open borders and shows some sympathy for Wall Street bankers.
“It’s over”, said Steve Schmidt, a Republican strategist and senior adviser to the party’s 2008 nominee, Senator John McCain.
On Saturday, congressional Republicans fled Trump in droves. “He has to look into the camera and say, ‘look, I understand I hurt a lot of people”.
Hours later, he released a video message: “Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am. It’s like a magnet”, Trump said. “Trump spent the next 24 hours in NY mostly ensconced in Trump Tower with only his most loyal advisers, steadfastly refusing to accept or recognize the full reality of what was happening outside”, the paper said. “Watch their poll numbers – and elections – go down!” he tweeted. An email obtained by The Associated Press doesn’t specify the topic, but rank-and-file lawmakers believe it’s about Trump.
The Democratic Coalition Against Trump, the nation’s largest grass-roots anti-Trump organization, released a new attack ad that centered on the 2005 video.
“You better back Trump!” they yelled.
Furthermore, Morning Consult’s online polling methodology actually included an embed of the audio from the tape itself – so any voters who hadn’t yet heard Trump saying “grab them in the pussy” could hear it for themselves. “You can do anything”.
“I’m automatically attracted to handsome ( women), I just start kissing them”.
