Rams still last in offense, but Jeff Fisher sees improvement

With not one but two Los Angeles Rams turnovers leading to touchdowns and Tyrod Taylor passed for two other scores for the Buffalo Bills in a 30-19 victory Sunday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Defensive linemen Robert Quinn, William Hayes and Michael Brockers did not play against the Bills because of injuries, and Fisher said all would be evaluated “day to day” this week. The Bills defeated the Rams 30-19.

“You always want to kind of finish a drive off with a touchdown, but a win’s a win”, said McCoy, who had two runs that led to Buffalo scores. “Perfect. I’m good. And we got the win this time”. I mean, that’s not a great idea, either.

“I felt like we did a pretty good job.” he said.

Coleman’s pick turned the game around, but it was the Rams’ failure to convert a fourth-and-5 situation at their own 23 with 3:47 left that cost them dearly. The Bills easily snuffed it out, setting themselves up 24 yards from the end zone, and quickly delivered the knockout punch to put the Rams away.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher grabbed the proverbial elephant by its tusk, led it into the middle of the Rams’ interview room at Cal Lutheran and properly addressed it Monday night.

Trailing by four points, the Rams had the ball at their 23-yard line with less than four minutes left when Fisher called for a fake punt. Taylor threw his second touchdown pass to Marquise Goodwin. Taylor completed 12 of 23 for 124 yards.

If they had gone for the touchdown and missed, they would have needed to get a stop and score a touchdown. To see that, we need to look at the view from behind the play. But a false-start penalty on third down stalled the drive and the Rams settled for Zuerlein’s 37-yard field goal. However, the Bills dictated the rest of the way.

Those final two bullet points mean McCoy has gone over 100 yards from scrimmage in 10 of 17 games in a Bills uniform, including 10 of the last 13 outings. “You can’t turn it over”. Alexander now holds the National Football League leader in sacks with seven, a half-sack ahead of Von Miller for first. Since his firing, the Bills have won three straight games with a combination of an effective running game and great defense. Dan Carpenter had the PAT blocked, and Buffalo took a 13-3 lead.

Todd Gurley put a ball on the turf that resulted in a Bills touchdown in the second quarter.

In a last ditch effort to muster up one last comeback attempt, Keenum threw another interception which sealed the deal. L.A. trip, we could’ve let all the distractions get to us and the long flight, getting in the day before.

Star defensive tackle Marcell Dareus was unable to play in his first game back following a suspension, but rookie Adolphus Washington stepped up in a big way in his absence.

On the next play from scrimmage, McCoy took a handoff 53 yards to the Rams’ five. A crowd of 83,679 attended. And with a home game next week against the 1-4 San Francisco 49ers and a road game against the soon-to-be 1-5 Miami Dolphins on the horizon, the Bills have a good chance to win five in a row for the first time since Mike Mularkey’s squad reeled off six consecutive W’s before laying an egg in the 2004 finale with a playoff berth on the line.
