The airlines which have made the decision to ban the Note 7 have not been directed to institute the ban on the electronic device by aviation authorities from within the country, but is instead their own choice.
According to a research firm based in South Korea, Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphones have been the highest selling smartphones in the region in October.
Samsung said that it will be making full payments for Galaxy Note 7 parts that have already been manufactured but are still unused. The company pulled about 2.5 million handsets worldwide of its flagship device barely two months after its launch including tens of thousands of units in Singapore.
Samsung is yet to comment on the proposed legal action.
Passengers travelling through airports in Dubai have been banned from carrying the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 due to safety concerns, Dubai’s airport operator said on Tuesday.
Despite the issue regarding Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices exploding, some users still have chose to hold on to their phones, still thinking that the issue is isolated.
An official at the South Korean safety agency said the replacement phones may have a defect that is different from the problem with the original Note 7s. But after almost 100 reports that the smartphone was overheating and exploding, the company issued a recall for the 1.9 million phones sold and offered replacements in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
So Samsung has now assured customers who bought the Galaxy Note 7 from outside India that they are also eligible for a refund.
First, there were heat and battery fires with the phones before it was finally recalled. “It was not until September 21 that Samsung announced that it would begin the Note7 exchanges nationwide”.
