The Indians are trying to put an end to Cleveland’s championship drought, which is at a daunting 128 days since James and the Cavs beat Golden State in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. There was a championship ring ceremony, a tearful LeBron James, a party outside the arena for the start of the World Series next door.

James, who got choked up while speaking to the crowd before the game, continued his ideal record on ring nights.

The team received the ring in a pregame ceremony on Tuesday, which proved emotional for some of the team, including LeBron James, who gave a speech that had fans on their feet shouting “MVP”.

NOTES: WWE superstar Undertaker was a pregame guest after LeBron James wore his T-shirt past year prior to Game 5 of the Finals. NY was outscored 69-43 in the second half, however, including a 34-19 margin in the third quarter. “This is all for you”. James paused and then reminded Cleveland that it remains an underdog – even in victory. “Cleveland against the world”.

Cleveland jumped on NY early after the interval and used a 20-6 run to open up a 74-53 lead with 3:47 left in the third quarter. Kevin Love chipped in a double-double of 23 points and 12 boards, while Kyrie Irving was the high scroer with 29 points. The only players that were able to get anything going for the Knicks were Carmelo Anthony, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick Rose; those three combined to shoot 20-48; the rest of the team was 12-of-39.

“Congratulations, Cleveland“, Silver said, before presenting championship rings to Gilbert and his partners.

New York, playing its first game under new coach Jeff Hornacek, trailed by 13 in the second quarter but rallied to cut the lead to 45-43 at halftime.

The Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the Finals.

. Irving hit three 3-pointers for a 74-53 lead.

NY didn’t suffer a blowout loss in December, January, February, March, or April; it fell by 29 points in the first game of the new era. He just began his 14th National Basketball Association season.

“It’s a dream come true”, said Crisp, who also played for the Indians from 2002-05. Willy Hernangomez, Ron Baker, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas only played nine, seven, and nine minutes respectively, but they were good minutes.

Meanwhile, the more recognizable faces weren’t bad, but the Knicks simply didn’t look like a team, in the sense that every man for himself.

Their attendance has been notoriously poor for many years, but Progressive Field has been rocking all October. Tuesday night was probably the most electric the city had been since two million people showed up for the Cavs championship parade.
