Trump touts new Washington hotel as example of business success

Trump didn’t miss the opportunity to capitalize on the fresh political ammunition, insisting “Obamacare is just blowing up” during a series of campaign events on the final day of an extensive three-day swing through must-win Florida.

Some Trump critics have questioned his trip to Washington, where he has virtually no chance of winning the city’s three electoral votes, and with time dwindling in his effort to overtake Clinton, a former USA secretary of state looking to become the country’s first female president. “That’s his choice, but we’re going to keep working really hard to reach as many voters as possible”. “This is what I want to do for our country”, he said. I’m exhausted of the excuses from our politicians and being told what can not be done. “I hope it’s a big success”.

The launch at the historic building attracted a spectacle.

A number of the nominee’s supporters attended the protest and picketed the area where the anti-Trump activists gathered.

“I’m taking one hour off”. “Any small thing I can do to get the word out that he is an abomination and the head of the basket of deplorables, that does exist, is why I’m here”. Their work, she said, was a rebuke to those who tried to “discredit” her father’s business. Melania, Tiffany, and Ivanka let theirs fall to the floor.

Donald Trump, however, did not give details as to how many more money from his personal account he is willing to pay.

Protesters briefly blocked a side entrance to the hotel.

“This building is a historical landmark, a true American original”. It’s closed for renovations, but Donald Trump Jr. said it should be open by the end of the year and will be operated by the National Park Service.

“On the rigged, corrupt system, he’s talking about people being left behind”, she said. The hotel includes the 4,000-square-foot Presidential Suite, which is located in the former Postmaster General’s office. October is typically one of the busiest months for Washington hotels.

The stops at his properties are raising questions about whether Donald Trump, who has lived by the mantra that “all publicity is good publicity”, is at least partly casting his eye beyond the presidential race.

Donald Trump stepped off the campaign trail Wednesday to promote his new hotel here, less than two weeks from Election Day and trailing in the polls. He started an online Trump TV newscast with campaign workers serving as television anchors on Monday and promoted one of his posh golf resorts in Florida on Tuesday, while posing for pictures with the staff that works there.

Yet as Mr Trump’s candidacy divides Americans there are signs his bombastic style may be hurting his famous brand.

The Trump Organization, which runs hotels, golf courses and other lines of Trump-branded businesses, is developing a new line of hotels that won’t bear the name of their founder.

Though room rates during the soft-opening soared above $750 per night, they have since dropped to about $400 for the “Deluxe” and “Premier” rooms, according to the hotel’s website.

Instead, Trump trotted out military officials who endorsed him at a press conference, making only a brief remark about how he believes Obama was born in the U.S. He then ended the press conference without fielding questions and barred reporters from touring the hotel with him.

Formally opening the Trump International Hotel in Washington, which has been in business since September, Trump said he would bring the same principles to running the federal government that he has used as a real estate developer.
