“I can remember just crumbling into tears, which I really don’t do that very often”, says Young”. It was truly an eye opener and I now look at things in a different light. “I was going to let God take its course, it is what it is”.
I must say, I found it quite refreshing this month to visit my favourite shopping location and not be bombarded with displays that only serve to remind me of a time in my life I would rather forget.
Q: Why The Pink Agenda? The company takes part in Breast Cancer Awareness Day every year and all the staff embraced the challenge of wearing brighly coloured pink t-shirts with the “Think Pink” slogan across the front.
Q: You’ve hosted other events to fundraise for the group? “This year, it’s for me, which I can not be more appreciative of the work that people I know have put into it”.
Dr Kevin Hill, GP and Chair of South Lincolnshire CCG said: “In many cases, breast cancer is detected by women noticing unusual changes in their breast and taking the initiative to visit their GP”. “We talked about making it a larger walk next year”.
Q: Why should breast reconstruction be an option for women?
It’s also common for women undergoing radiation to ask if having fair skin will make them more susceptible to sunburns from the treatments- but that’s another myth. I would advise anyone diagnosed with cancer to never give up. That allows a woman to feel like herself.
Funds raised support breast cancer-specific programs and services provided by the American Cancer Society to anyone fighting breast cancer.
“I’m one of them, and I support them”, she said.
“That’s probably the hardest thing to deal with”, Feranec said.
Some factors linked to breast cancer – family history, your age, your gender, genetics – can’t be changed.
“There is widespread scientific evidence of the link between alcohol and breast cancer, but little public awareness of it”.
