This Sunday will see the WWE Raw roster invade the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts for Hell in the Cell. How WWE can top this in the remaining pay-per-view events in the year is beyond me. Fans will debate that question for the next two days.
Here, I will provide my personal preview and prediction and uncover the potential for every match on the advertised card.
WWE Cruiserweight champ TJ Perkins vs. Brian Kendrick. To get to the result, Kendrick forced Perkins to tap to the Captain’s Hook, and became the new Cruiserweight Champion. But which of the other two will close the show?
If Kendrick wins, the potential for new developments decreases.
Has anyone else been underwhelmed with the cruiserweight division since its arrival on Raw? He’s in his second run with the WWE, one that didn’t seem to go well at first.
A confident and strong-minded young lady, she enjoys the art of professional wrestling with its intriguing way of story telling, larger-than-life personalities and showcases of physical talent unlike any other sport. What does this mean? That was also Reigns victory. Perkins is the flawless champion for the division. After that, where does he stand in the division?
From Sasha’s nail biting spots to Charlotte’s mesmerizing moonsaults out of the ring, they continually prove they have the innate ability to deliver a five-star match, while tearing down the house in the process.
Bayley def. Dana Brooke by pin following the Bayley-to-Belly. Meanwhile, Brooke has struggled since the call-up. The traditional elimination-style tag team matches are back, and this year, they will have Raw facing off against SmackDown LIVE in a battle for brand supremacy. A hotter ending and Sasha winning could have provided us with that moment, but neither happened. The match put NXT on the map. The referee pleaded with her to not go through with the match, but Banks had made up her mind. Enzo and Cass are the future and Gallows and Anderson are good wrestlers.
Your winners: Enzo Amore and Big Cass. Banks will eventually become Women’s Champion again.
Get ready: There’s another WWE event Sunday airing on the WWE Network. They really can’t afford to have Mick Foley or Stephanie McMahon outshine them and overtake them as the stars in segments. What gets interesting with this match is what WWE does with the team that loses.
Tag Team Championship – Cesaro & Sheamus defeated The New Day via disqualification, but could not take the title as the win was not by submission.
Here’s my match by match thoughts from last night’s PPV. Storytelling will be the key in this contest.
It’s very unlikely to see The New Day drop their titles this far into a lengthy (and historic) run. Roman Reigns kicked off the event with a United States Championship title defense in the cage, defeating the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev. However, even at that, Rusev could not break down Roman Reigns. What wasn’t great, however, was the way Roman is able to get out of the accolade constantly, even when Rusev is using a steel chain across his jaw. The MVP of this feud has been Rusev. Pre-recorded promos should be better if I ” m being honest. The Universal Championship match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins is shaping up to be something special, and I am sure both men will be doing their best to steal the show – which is as it should be. You’ll need to enter your credit card information when signing up, but if you cancel your subscription before the trial period ends, you will not be charged.
Inside Hell in a Cell, these two will pull out some major stunts because they want to steal the show and are capable of it. They could keep the belt on Reigns and let him ride out with the U.S. Title. Also, for the first time in history, the United States Championship will be defended in the said cell, wherein the rather physical match favored Reigns who is no stranger to the match and successfully defended the belt. But while the two chose to punch years off each other’s lifespans, it was Chris Jericho who had the final say in who would out of HIAC as the champ.
The WWE Women’s Championship will be up for grabs when The Boss, Sasha Banks square up with the self-proclaimed Greatest Athlete of WWE today, Charlotte. It looked very much like the match wouldn’t happen and Charlotte would be declared the victor.
It’s just a shame that this time around, the match didn’t quite live up to the hype. We knew it was going to be epic when she went up top for a moonsault. For the first time, inside the steel structure women’s championship match took place. However, the finish to their women’s title match was considerably different prior to the show.
