LA Times Poll Puts Trump 4 Points Ahead of Clinton

November 04 00:02 2016

Donald Trump plunged into his final-week sprint to Election Day decidedly on his terms: unleashing a harsh new attack against Democrat Hillary Clinton in MI, a state that hasn’t favored a Republican for president in almost three decades. Her campaign is underscoring that political reality with a stop in Arizona Wednesday, a state that has voted for Republican presidential candidates all but once since 1952.

The Marquette poll, started in early 2012, has had a reputation for closely predicting the outcome of statewide elections. Trump’s strong enthusiasm has held steady in tracking, which started October 20.

It’s unclear at this point if this will affect Clinton’s chances for the presidency, but CNN’s Poll of Polls shows Clinton maintaining a narrow lead over Trump, 47% to 42%.

Hillary Clinton is pushing her supporters to cast early ballots in key battleground states in the race for the White House, as Donald Trump tries to make up ground with intensified attacks following the FBI’s renewed examination of her email practices.

But her advisers say they saw polls tighten even before the Federal Bureau of Investigation launched its new email review. It is not to be confused with polls from real voters.

In July, after a lengthy investigation, the FBI and Department of Justice declined to pursue charges in the case.

Clinton leads among women 49-34 and among those with a college degree 48-37. They are tied among white voters and voters in the Milwaukee suburbs.

Speaking in serious tones, Clinton warned at length about putting Trump in control of the nation’s nuclear stockpiles. Trump leads among independents 39-38. She accused him of talking “casually” about nuclear war and wondered whether he knows “that a single nuclear warhead can kill millions of people”.

The former first lady’s popularity has dwindled with a new poll showing that 59 percent of registered voters have an unfavorable view of her. That’s nearly unchanged from three weeks earlier and slightly worse than six weeks ago.

And Clinton aides say the core of their base, especially Hispanic voters, have already turned out to vote in high numbers, citing trends in Colorado, Nevada and Florida. Blair said he would “live in constant fear” of Trump making a bad call about nuclear weapons if he were still a launch officer.

“Donald Trump is uniquely unqualified to be president”. Comey’s letter was no attempt to sway the electorate against Clinton, as Clinton’s campaign and prominent Democrats are now proclaiming. About 41 percent are bothered by Trump not releasing his tax returns.

As for Mr Trump’s charge that a Clinton election win might prompt “a constitutional crisis”, the U.S. justice department’s office of legal counsel said in 1973 that criminally prosecuting a president would unconstitutionally undermine the executive branch. To wit, such individuals provide the very image of Roosevelt’s “forgotten man”, and Moore believes that they’re going to vote for Trump even if they don’t agree with him. But even if they don’t implicate the Democratic presidential nominee, their mere existence could call into question testimony Abedin gave months ago about the email system.

Clinton on Monday continued to level attacks against Trump’s ability to control nuclear weapons. “The latest results, however, show that just 49 percent now say that”.

In Las Vegas Wednesday, Clinton took aim at Trump’s feud with an American-born judge of Mexican heritage who ruled against the businessman in an ongoing legal matter. The campaign is hopeful that these efforts will be crucial to driving up turnout on and before Election Day. His son, Eric Trump, plans to visit the northern part of the state on Thursday.

Trump and Clinton have campaigned intensively in recent weeks in Florida, which yields a rich haul of 29 electoral votes.

With the turbulent White House race scrambled in new directions, Donald Trump is campaigning like it all hinges on one all-too-familiar swing state: Florida. His running mate, Mike Pence, has been here four times.

Conceding nothing in the state, Clinton has also been a frequent visitor. Bernie Sanders are visiting this week.

“In fact, it is not just odd, it is unprecedented and it is deeply troubling”, she said at a Daytona Beach rally.

The poll sampled 1,388 registered voters between October 30 and November 1, and has a margin of error of 3.0.

Trump on Tuesday seized on projections of sharp health care cost increases as he campaigned in Pennsylvania, a state where some premiums are expected to rise by more than 40 percent.
