Nearly 1 out of every 4 Mass. voters has voted early

The call to change votes began last week after news broke that the Federal Bureau of Investigation was looking into more emails from Clinton’s private email server. Currently, early voting is at 60 percent of 2012 – in other words 40 percent of votes cast in 2012 are still “out there”.

Over the weekend, Fox News ran stories about the options available to those who want a vote do-over.

Tammy Frisby, who’s in charge of the Hoover Institution’s Golden State Poll, noted that this presidential race has seenmore than its fair share of October surprises”.

Voting experts said they do not expect such challenges to be widespread. The RNC claims it has no oral or written agreements with the Trump campaign regarding “voter fraud, ballot security, ballot integrity, poll watching or poll monitoring”.

“I think it was hugely successful”, said Dion Irish, commissioner of the Election Department. “It’s a question we’re really not prepared to answer”. In 2016, that number has increased to more than double at 31,623 people, or 1.7% of all voters who cast their ballot early.

Turnout has been especially high in Swampscott since early voting began on October 24. In Pennsylvania, Attorney General Bruce Breemer said today that his office and the Pennsylvania State Police “are investigating a pattern of voter registration irregularities across the Commonwealth” but said “it is premature to reach any conclusion”.

The two have been tangling over a relatively few states.

Early voting also continued at the government center, making 17 sites in all where people could cast their ballots.

In most political races, candidates spend the most time where they can reap the most votes. “You can’t change your vote”.

So far, women have been turning out for early voting in greater numbers than men in every state that provides the data: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and North Carolina.

Voters can still apply for absentee ballots until noon on Monday if they won’t be in their community during the 7 a.m.to 8 p.m. polling hours on Election Day. The Elections Office must have received a ballot by the 8 p.m. deadline to be counted on Election Day. NY voters can do that right up until Monday, Nov. 7, Conklin said.

But my main problem with early voting is different. Just mail it out on Tuesday after checking the postage; 2) You can take the ballot to your polling place, surrender it, and ask for a new ballot; or, 3) Some counties allow voters to drop off their completed ballots at any polling place in the county. That’s according to Bryan Dean, state Election Board spokesman.

Now, Harris and her staff will turn their attention to Tuesday, cataloging voting machines, ballot bags and signature lists for the county’s precincts.

The same goes for Georgia, which has early voting but doesn’t give voters a do-over if they have a change of heart, state officials said. But that hasn’t kept people from inquiring about it.

Party turnout has gotten harder to track in recent days because the election statistics provided by officials don’t include people who both register and vote on the same day during early voting – and the number of same-day voters has been booming in recent days.

“This is an election unlike any other where the candidate has gone around the country and implored his supporters to engage in aggressive poll watching”, Gottlieb said.

It wasn’t always so. Ironically, that bill was signed into law by Gov. Mike Pence, Trump’s vice presidential running mate. On their ballot, these voters rank their top three choices for the office, regardless of party.

More than 5.7 million Floridians have already hit the polls after about two weeks of in-person early voting.

While that inflammatory storyline grabbed headlines, U.S. District Court Judge Gerald Pappert threw out the GOP’s lawsuit challenging the local residency requirement for poll watchers. Frisby believes average people – those who don’t get paid to follow politics and policy – only start paying attention in the last month before an election.
