Ravens frustrate Roethlisberger in 21-14 win over Steelers

Roethlisberger has missed seven career games against the Ravens. I predict it to look like a home game in there.

The Ravens’ victory before an announced 71,286 broke a four-game losing streak, gave them four consecutive wins over the Steelers for the first time in franchise history and vaulted the team into first place in the AFC North. TAKING THEIR SHOTS: Flacco hit wide receiver Mike Wallace for a 53-yard gain against the Jets on first-and-10 from the Baltimore 10 on the Ravens’ second possession (Baltimore’s fifth offensive snap). The longest regular-season play was in 1997, an Eric-Zeier-to-Derrick Alexander 92-yard touchdown pass.

Roethlisberger ran for a 4-yard score with 48 seconds left, but Chris Boswell botched the onside kick – barely knocking it off the tee – and Baltimore closed out its fourth straight win over Pittsburgh (including playoffs). Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs said he’d seen “this Roethlisberger movie before”. If they can’t plug up the holes it will be a long season for the struggling team. “I think once the actual spotlight is on, the players that shine will really come out and shine”. The Ravens might want to stick with it, because the Steelers are vulnerable (4.7 ypc allowed, 27th in the NFL) – and the teams that take advantage of that beat them. Kessler took over for the injured McCown in Week 3, and he played in five games before getting hurt. The game is a 1:00 pm ET start time and is airing on CBS. Pittsburgh could also get several injured players back, including defensive end Cameron Heyward (hamstring), running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) and right tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle).
