Some rumors said the phone will arrive earlier than anticipated so Samsung can recoup some of its Galaxy Note 7 losses. Samsung will reportedly bring the devices to a broad range of its devices after it arrives on the upcoming phone.
Samsung mentions in the letter that it has completely stopped production of the Note 7 devices, and that it is working very hard to ensure all the devices out in the wild are gotten back safely. While the company hasn’t responded yet, it typically declines to comment until it has a chance to examine the damaged phone. This has made owners of Samsung Galaxy J7 anxious, and thinking that their devices might not receive the Nougat update. As to the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung issued a second and final recall after discovering that replacement handsets suffered the same overheating and exploding issue as the original model.
Viv Labs is run by a co-creator of Siri, which was eventually purchased by Apple.
In its ad, Samsung said its mission was to offer “best-in-class” safety and quality. Aside from the usual AI platform duties, Viv will have seamless integration with third-party apps.
This combined with the large scale Galaxy Note 7 recall has certainly not been easy for the company.
Lamya Bouyirdane, the owner of the affected Galaxy J5, told the Associated Press that she noticed the phone was hot to touch and had expanded with smoke pouring out. Her partner quickly extinguished it.
The ad also touches on a recent voluntary recall of the company’s top-loading washing machines, due to safety issues. In a report, it was said that only 85 percent of the mobiles were returned by the customers and what about the remaining 15%.
He added that problems involving lithium-ion batteries used in not just smartphones, but also laptop computers, have been around for years and there’s no easy fix for them.
The claim alleges Samsung was negligent because the company knew or should have known that the devices could harm consumers.
