We want Goff: Rams hear fans’ chant, but rook stays on bench

“I’m not uncomfortable at all“, Fisher said when asked about his future Monday.

The Rams have lost four games in a row to fall to 3-5, but coach Jeff Fisher has no public concerns about his contract status. “I’ve been through that before. I get ready to play and that’s what I do”, Keenum said.

“Case was not the reason we lost this game”, Fisher said. “We’ll circle our wagons with the coaches and look at the tape, but I’m pleased with the way Case has fought, and consistently, week after week, I’m pleased with Jared’s progress”.

This four-game skid has put them in a precarious position, which Keenum shares the same level of frustration being exuded for the fans while still hoping to turn things around next week against the New York Jets as the starting quarterback.

“I saw something that our coaches showed us all week long”, Davis said of his third-quarter interception of quarterback Case Keenum that stopped a rare Rams’ drive into Panthers’ territory.

Goff has not played in the regular season after being chosen first in the draft.

“I’ve never done that before”, he said. I think I just caught the sun. No, we’re moving on.

In the days leading up to their game against the Panthers, the Rams said they would continue to play aggressively. I really like the style that they’re playing.

Players want to win and if they agree with Fisher that Keenum gives them the best chance to do so, then they likely aren’t complaining. We’re talking about a journeyman quarterback in Keenum that has eight interceptions during this four-game stretch and went over 115 minutes of game time before finally getting his team a touchdown with a pass to Kenny Britt on Sunday. Obviously, the ball is in their hands all the time; obviously, they’re going to get the blame.

Newton was sacked five times by the Rams. He faked out the QB and baited him into making an ill-advised throw, then made an incredible play on the ball to come down with the interception.

“Of course, we want them to put up 50 points a game”, Quinn said.

Keenum drove L.A. for a 25-yard field goal that cut the lead to 10-3, but the Panthers answered, with Gano’s 37-yard field goal pushing the lead to 13-3 with 3:23 to play. “It’s one of those scary things”. Whether it’s the following week or the following week, it’s eventually going to happen.

“You drop back, you get set up, and you get your eyes back to the quarterback and he threw it in my direction”.

The Rams missed a lot of opportunities throughout this game and it all started on their first drive.

The Panthers did not run the ball well (2.5 yards per carry) and did not protect Cam Newton (4 sacks, numerous hits).

Defensively, the Rams present a number of problems, particularly against a Jets offense that has struggled all year long. Despite this, coach Todd Bowles has not chose to make a quarterback change. That’s one fewer than the Rams’ offense managed, and that group today is being viewed as a punch line. He slipped a little in his second season and more so the year after when the Vikings moved outside at the University of Minnesota during construction of their new stadium.

The game was the Rams annual Salute to Service military appreciation game, celebrating and recognizing members of the military.

On the bright side. the Rams defense has been as good as advertised this season.
