Carmelo Anthony scores 22 points, Knicks beat Nets 110-96

November 10 03:39 2016

Gorgui Dieng, in the first quarter of the Nets win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Barclays Center Tuesday night, stepped on Whitehead’s head.

NY has lost four of its first six games under new Head Coach Jeff Hornacek and the team will try to bounce back with a win at home where the team are 1-2 this season. Brooklyn seems primed to try to take advantage of the Knicks’ uncertainty in that area after producing its best offensive output of the season in a 119-110 win over Minnesota on Tuesday. The Brooklyn Nets last five victories have come at home.

The Nets play the Knicks tonight at Madison Square Garden, which could be the first time Ferrell dresses for a regular season game. The Nets also received some good news yesterday in that Randy Foye is good to go.

Jeremy Lin’s New York City encore hasn’t played to the kind of early reviews the National Basketball Association star swingman surely imagined. The big man led the Nets with 26 points, three rebounds and three blocks. The Nets enter the game with a surprising 3-4 record, but are 0-2 on the road. The team is desperately hoping to have Lin back in about two weeks, with both sides silently agreeing his return can’t come soon enough if the franchise is to have any immediate chance of finally appeasing a long-suffering fan base.

Following Tuesday nights action, the first battle of NY takes place at Madison Square Garden Wednesday night against the Knicks (2-4).

The Knicks are coming off a 114-109 loss to the Jazz back on Sunday. The injury to Jeremy Lin hurts this team short-term, but it may be beneficial to give a long look to players like Sean Kilpatrick. Brook and Robin Lopez played together in 2005 at Standford University.

Create floor spacing by using Lopez down low to open up shots for his teammates. Feed the hot hand. After nailing five 3-pointers in the first quarter, they finished the game just 6-of-22 from deep.

Anthony got hot – like, I’mma-Hall-of-Famer-and-I-do-what-I-want-hot. Lopez averages 20.5 points per game while Lin was putting up 15 points per contest before getting injured.

The third quarter would see the Nets regain their composure. Noah can handle Lopez one-on-one more often than not, as we saw in the preseason, but if Lopez gets going from the midrange.there could be trouble.

Lopez was simply satisfied with the toughness that his team had showed, which he feels is the ball club’s current style of play. Kristaps Porzingis had his turn in the fourth.

The Nets had a chance to send the Knicks into a real unsafe spot and, instead, they probably just gave their rivals the jump-start their season was missing.
