Bernie Sanders leaves the door open for 2020 presidential run

Who Are the Alternatives to Sanders? But he said he would seek to mobilize Democrats to help the party rebuild.

It was tough to see Clinton, who embodies the political establishment, the business establishment in this country, as a credible change agent. The names of the companies that strike deals would added to a list on big electronic scoreboard on the wall of the war room – and on the department’s web site – right next to a giant map indicating where all the new jobs are to be created.

“To pardon Hillary Clinton?”. And as reported by the Associated Press, Sanders hasn’t ruled it out.

For too many in key locations, a Clinton presidency indicated four more years of an Obama administration.

Even beyond his advantages in popularity, Sanders would have offered the Democrats advantages in the kind of race he could have run.

The notion that Bernie Sanders would have beaten Trump is a nice feel good fantasy, but nothing more.

As a reward for my party loyalty, I was betrayed by Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee, who was forced to resign her chair as a result of her intentional sabotage of Bernie Sanders’ campaign. Many Democrats will, as is their habit, conclude that the fault lies with the left wing of the party – that progressive party activists did not sufficiently support the candidate or that leftward attacks weakened Clinton.

Younger politicians like Cory Booker, Tulsi Gabbard, and Tammy Duckworth have also been floated as potential presidential material. Of course, with Tammy Duckworth having just won a Senate seat after serving in the House of Representatives, she might have that name recognition by 2020.

Sanders-who, according to hypothetical polls conducted during the primary, would have posed a more formidable challenge to Trump than Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton-told the news outlet that he is “not ruling out” another presidential bid in 2020.

Nafta hate brought Sanders over the finish line, as 56 per cent of voters who said free trade was bad for job growth in MI picked Sanders.

Trump’s open warfare with Republican leaders over the past year and a half obscured the extent of the Democrats’ crisis, and they are only now beginning to contend with it. She expects President Trump to be different from candidate Trump.

In the immediate aftermath of Donald Trump’s victory, Bernie Sanders’ campaign had “nothing polite to say“. There are several reasons for this.

It didn’t have to be that way, if the Democratic Party establishment and so called “elites” had learned over the past half century a lesson they should have learned by now. In fact, he used this word to describe his emotions.

Harrison argued it’s more about finding the right messengers to take the Democratic platform to the pockets of the electorate that have drifted away from the party, naming New York Sen. But this overlooked other fundamentals that influence voter’s decisions.

In the second, sadder outcome-the one which actually transpired-his choice to back Clinton was even more important.

Clinton, who campaigned on her experience, connections and ability to secure realistic and incremental change, seemed to be the living embodiment of the establishment. But over the last three decades the party has been taken over by Washington-based fundraisers, bundlers, analysts, and pollsters who have focused instead on raising campaign money from corporate and Wall Street executives and getting votes from upper middle-class households in “swing” suburbs. But what is clear is that the people in power are not fully representing the people of the United States anymore and there is a serious divide in both parties. So, making full use of all the arcane rules and traditions of the party primary system, surreptitiously aided and abetted by the DNC, inadvertently aided by voter registration laws in states like NY, where independents and new voters were not able to vote in the primary election, the party was able to push and drag Hillary across the line to win the nomination. And she says Sanders could have done it by winning states Clinton never could. Sanders’ diplomatic language reveals the parallels between his proposals and those of Trump.
