“We could never have predicted that we’d be here doing it again”, says Lauren Graham (Lorelai) in the video. Lorelai sarcastically yells when Luke is upset that she’s eating tacos before a full dinner.
I was a dedicated fan during the original run, and I watched it all, waiting – as I recently explained to my shocked, Netflix-spoiled daughter – an entire week between episodes and months and months between seasons.
The infamous final four words that Amy Sherman-Palladino teased and never revealed will be revealed.
But thank God it didn’t because it’s back – and we have all the information you need about the return of the show…
Will she end up with someone by the end of the 4 episodes, it’s very possible. Or, as some may frame it, which one was the worst of the series?
Binging on Netflix is usually a solo affair, late-nights falling asleep to your favorite series only to lose track of which episode you were on, mixed with the occasional night on the couch with a significant other.
So, just picture the look on my face when Netflix announced a revival of the beloved series. And when I say whole group, I do mean the whole group-Mrs. She gave voice to three of the most memorable female characters on television, she redefined the way that women’s issues were represented on screen, and most importantly, she brought us Lorelai Gilmore. Luke’s Diner is now overrun by wifi-hungry laptop users, and the pop culture references are naturally up-to-the-minute, encompassing everything from Spotlight to Lena Dunham to an extended riff on Cheryl Strayed’s Wild. Rory puts on her plaid skirt and starts at Chilton, where she finds herself struggling to catch up with her privileged classmates – and it doesn’t help that one, Paris Geller, takes against her.
Not only would Rory be Lorelai’s daughter, she’d be her niece-in-law since Lorelai’s husband’s nephew’s wife (AKA Rory) is just that: a niece-in-law. She has had heartache by the bucketful, but she still has heart. Her relationship with Milo Ventimiglia, who played her bad-boy love interest Jess Mariano, was well publicized. Lorelai and Rory return as the mother-daughter best-friend duo who live in the gloriously quirky town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. It may be one of her exes or it may be someone completely different.

Season 4, Episode 22: “Raincoats and Recipes” Spoiler alert: Yes, this is the episode in which Rory loses her virginity to Dean. She studies hard, loves homework more than any reasonable human being, and had boyfriends good and bad. They were the ideal couple, in the most imperfect ways.
For Patterson, Luke and Lorelai’s irresistible back-and-forth repertoire was indicative of them getting together. Then Rory freaks out when her mum invites Dean over to watch films and eat junk food with them. When Paul Anka shows signs of being sick – in the very typical dog way of lining shoes up in the hallway – Lorelai transfers all of her feelings of inadequacy onto the pup. Rory drops out of Yale after criticism of her work. [Amy Sherman-Palladino] kind of deals with that beautifully in the revival.
