Brandon Williams’ loyalty to the Ravens is undisputed.
“They’ve just got something magical right now”, the burly nose tackle said.
The Ravens’ defense shows why it’s the top-ranked D in the National Football League, making quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott look like rookies for one of the few times this season. But the Dallas Cowboys are saying they believe Romo could be in their plans beyond 2016.
It’s a battle of first place teams as the NFC East leading Dallas Cowboys (8-1) host the AFC North leading Baltimore Ravens (5-4) in Week 11 action.
It’s a task that only one opponent has managed to accomplish. Before witnessing Prescott’s game brilliance, he did request team officials to give him a chance to win his old job back, TheMMQB.com reported.
While the Ravens have the top-ranked rushing defense, it’ll be the Baltimore backfield that will have the most trouble. But after getting injured during the pre-season, Dax Prescott has stepped in a made Romo a mere afterthought.
Romo was as graceful as you could ask a 36-year-old veteran to be when he said Tuesday that Prescott has earned the right to be the starter. The Jets will be looking for a quarterback after this season with Ryan Fitzpatrick having a bad year and playing on a franchise tag.
“The offensive line is the heart of this offense”, Prescott said.
He said he was in the weight room when he found out Romo was addressing reporters, and Witten finally let his exasperation show when someone offered the “what if” of Romo having taken his last snap with the Cowboys. “We work great together”. [We are] thankful for the opportunity to play this game that we love. I have playmakers all around me and Pro Bowl guys who have been doing well in this league for a long time. Elliott has lost just one fumble despite ranking second in carries (198). “He’s real poised in there”.
When the cameras aren’t on all three quarterbacks, they’ll be on another Dallas rookie, running back Ezekiel Elliott. Obviously, they are two of the leaders on their team and their offense.
Romo sees that the Cowboys are 8-1 and have not lost since Week 1, but as a competitor he nearly certainly believes he could have enjoyed the same success if he was healthy.
Not even two-third of the way through his rookie season and Prescott is the standout quarterback of this year’s draft class. Romo’s fate ultimately is up to the Cowboys, but it would be pretty cruel of them to hang onto him if he does indeed want to start elsewhere.
I think we could all take a page from his talk.
“I didn’t see the press conference, but I heard about it”, Manning said.
“I just have to really pinch myself we are in that shape with Dak Prescott playing at his level and Tony Romo healthy and ready to go”, Jones said. How much do these conversations change if they start to lose? Coaches are sympathetic, but they still have to coach.
