“Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” is now streaming on Netflix.
Forget Thanksgiving, the main event this past weekend for a legion of loyal Gilmore Girls fans was the arrival of four long-awaited episodes.
Now, Gilmore Girls Season 9 seems to have garnered a fresh lease in life with these four words.
Nevertheless, it felt like such an honest moment to finally see Rory give in to imperfection and show us that those feelings of abandonment impact us more than any of us ever truly want to believe. The reason for a bombshell like this, though?
Of course, ultimately, if the story has really gone full circle, then there might not be any man in the life of single-mom Rory.
We all can agree that Amy is a genius.
– Lauren Graham looks better than she has a right to. She has helped us grow up and witness the success and failures of these wonderful women.
I know it sounds a bit insane, especially since Lorelai looked shocked at the news and I’d assume Rory would need her permission in order for this to happen, but still!
The finale was tragically comedic, in the style of the original show. I think she’s actually not that emotionally connected to it.
“I think being married to that girl is going to be a really good thing”, Patterson continued. Jess would obviously help Rory raise her child, just like Luke helped Lorelai.
At the same time, Rory has also struggled. He’s so eager to keep the peace between he and Lorelai that he has become a great big pushover in these new episodes.
That still leaves fans hanging, fans who invested years into Rory’s love life. Presumably, the baby is Logan’s (Matt Czuchry), who Rory made a decision to break up with after having an affair with him for about a year.
Spoiler alert! If you haven’t finished watching “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” yet. what are you waiting for?! For all we know, the father of Rory’s baby could actually be the Wookie she slept with in NY. Rory, in a sense, saved the family.
But with all the talk of the money for Luke, what did Richard leave for Lorelai and Rory? You’ll understand that this is not the intrigues shortage of ideas for a possible sequel of Gilmore Girls and it is certain that Palladino know.
For most shows, that ending would be quite the cliffhanger.
It isn’t as though we were left completely unprepared for the bombshell; the revival’s marketing campaign was littered with clues, including a much-buzzed-about Instagram photo that featured a single apple atop a plate of Pop Tarts, seemingly a callback to a Season 5 episode of the original show, in which junk food queen Lorelai attributes her fruit cravings to possibly being pregnant.
