Rams say Eric Dickerson is always welcome on their sideline

“I have the right to say what I say”. I told him: ‘You can go back to Tennessee, you can go to Cleveland, you can go to USC or wherever else you might go. However, Fisher is also anxious about a running back or the Patriots-or at least one he thinks is on the Patriots. “Because you got caught with your trousers down”. “We’re not going to do that …” According to Dickerson, Fisher said he and the players were uncomfortable with Dickerson around because of his harsh criticism of the 4-7 Rams. I’m not trying to hurt the players.

“So I don’t know where that’s coming from”, Fisher said.

This is both the same and a different kind of story.

Demoff said he reached out to Dickerson to find out how any miscommunication could have occurred.

First, there was the Jared Goff issue, the Rams insistent on keeping their No. 1 overall draft pick quarterback on the bench for nine long games while starter Case Keenum agonizingly tread water.

Dickerson said he had received support from former National Football League players and others via phone calls and social media, including a suggestion from a Hall of Fame linebacker.

“And as they rotate through, different guys play in different situations, and they do a good job with it”, Fisher continued.

Fisher said he “never went there” during his conversation with Dickerson, but did indicate to Dickerson that he shouldn’t rip the team in public comments then expect perks. Fisher was under the impression he and Dickerson had patched things up in their November 17 phone call. During the interview the Hall of Fame running back stated that he received a phone call from Jeff Fisher letting him know that he was not allowed on the sidelines.

The last few days of ire surrounding Dickerson’s contention he was told by a team official – whom he later identified specifically as Fisher – to stay away because of critical things he’d been saying about the organization somehow became a TMZ-framed oil spill.

Dickerson, whose playing career ended Willie Mays-style with the Atlanta Falcons in 1993 at age 33 (after one interesting year back in L.A. with the rival Raiders), says today wants to be remembered as a Ram, which retired his No. 29.

“I’d welcome him in the building”. You know how many different quarterbacks we’ve played with. “Eddie George has been in my meetings more than Eric Dickerson has”.

It seemed like a pretty harmless question to Rams coach Jeff Fisher on Wednesday’s conference call, but his response may indicate why the coach is one of the most losing coaches in National Football League history.

“I want to come to these football games about as much as I want to put a bloody steak around my neck and dive into the Pacific Ocean buck naked”.

“Very disappointed in [Rams executive] Kevin Demoff”, Dickerson said on SportsCenter.

The Rams should credit Fisher for overseeing their move from St. Louis to Los Angeles this offseason. I’m a player, I’m always a player first. “It’s all about the Patriots now”.

Fisher denied the rift between the two at his media session Monday. Goff was sacked three times in New Orleans, and the Patriots’ pass-rush will be a test for Goff and his offensive line. Meanwhile, Los Angeles is the week’s biggest underdog, with host New England favored by a whopping 13.5 points. He is the second-leading rusher in the organization’s history. The 56-year-old holds the all-time rushing record for the Los Angeles incarnation of the franchise.

The California honeymoon is over for the Rams, and if they don’t find a way to reverse course fast, any fans the team might have won might be looking to file for divorce in the near future.

Danny? Could Fisher possibly have been referring to Danny Woodhead, who hasn’t played in New England since 2012?

After getting off to a hot 3-1 start, some were buying Jeff Fisher’s claim to not accept 7-9 bullshit this year.
