Carr leads another rally for Raiders in 38-24 win over Bills

Oakland will be in the hunt for its seventh straight win after roaring back late to blow by Buffalo, while the Chiefs are coming off a more dramatic win. The Raiders (9-2) now lead the AFC West by a game over Kansas City and are tied with New England for the best record in the conference. He has 375 yards on 64 carries, an impressive 5.8 yards per carry, with six touchdowns.

Just before the end of the 3rd quarter, the Raiders trimmed the Bills lead to just one on a 1-yard TD from Latavius Murray.

STOP THE RUN: The Raiders have had issues stopping the run, allowing 4.6 yards per carry and holding just two of the past 10 opponents under 100 yards. After completing 8-of-9 passes for 102 yards in the first quarter, Taylor went 10-for-26 for 89 yards with a pick the next three quarters.

The good news though, is that Malcolm Smith and Perry Riley Jr. – key components of Oakland’s run and short passing game defense are back in action.

The Raiders cut Buffalo’s lead to 24-16 on Carr’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Crabtree with 5:17 left in the third quarter.

To put that in perspective, Von Miller had a disruption rate of 28.7 percent in his historic preseason past year (three game stretch). “We expect to go out there and score points”.

Carr’s pinky is fine, thank you: Raiders quarterback Derek Carr was taken off the injury report after this practice week. The success out of Carr is not only a surprise because of his inexperience but because of the fact that he has to play the vaunted Denver and Kansas City defenses four times a year. KJ42 gets an int and we finally see a highlight hit from him. Through 11 games this season, Cooper has 922 yards on 66 catches according to ESPN.

Add in the fact that Kansas City stopped two of those possessions with takeaways, and it’s more like an eight-possession game for the Raiders. Just like last week against the Panthers, Mack blew by the offensive line and stold the ball out of Taylors hand for the strip-sack and fumble recovery, icing the game for the Raiders and launching them to 10-2 on the year. The Bills marched 54 yards in 10 plays for Gillislee’s 2-yard touchdown run up the middle with 9:01 left in the third for a 24-9 edge. Known as mostly a special teams standout during his first nine seasons in the NFL, Alexander has emerged as a big-time pass rusher in Buffalo.

After Oakland’s sixth straight win, it is clear that their success is not a fluke.

REUNION: Del Rio and Ryan have a long history, having served as defensive assistants together in Baltimore when the Ravens won the Super Bowl following the 2000 season.

With a 14-point lead then, the Raiders were then able to get another huge, game-clinching play from Khalil Mack on Sunday. They were in danger of falling completely out of the playoff picture, but now are tied with four other teams for the final wild card spot.

The Silver and Black will also have their top touchdown receiving threat on the field at home Sunday.
