So, it makes since that LG would jump on board, but instead of loading its Bluetooth speaker with smart features such as a voice-activated assistant, the company has thrown levitation into the mix.
LG is going to unveil the LG PJ9 floating speaker in 2017 January, at the Consumer Electronics Show. Its standout feature, of course, is the levitating omnidirectional speaker – which achieves liftoff with electromagnets. An optional charging cradle has also been provided, in case you don’t want to use the speakers for battery.
The pretty pictures have worked up quite a storm in the tech world and the LG PJ9 is being eagerly awaited in the CES 2017.
These new speakers come with the unique quality of hovering in air while the music is being played.
The PJ9 also supports an active lifestyle with its IPX7 certification and can withstand adverse weather condition when being used outdoors. According to its official press release, the speaker uses Dual Passive Radiator technology which gives its “flush mid-range” sound.
“The PJ9 wireless speaker is an exciting combination of audio design and innovation, offering the flawless balance between performance, beauty and versatility“, stated Tim Alessi, LG Electronics new product planning director.
Along with LG, Sony, Samsung, and Panasonic are all expected launch a host of new devices at the show with updated TV technology likely to be top of the agenda.
LG went for a simple and clean design rather than something eccentric with its PJ9 floating speaker, building the gadget as a cylindrical device that somewhat resembles a floating microphone.
LG promises 10 hours battery life with this speak, and as the speaker runs out of juice it automatically descends to the Levitation Station – beginning to start charging wirelessly without an interruption in music.
Aesthetically, the speaker looks like a pod from the famous “Star Wars” franchise.
