Tennessee fans give final thoughts on season after Music City Bowl win

Established in 1998, the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl has transformed the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day into one of the city’s busiest times of the year for tourism. That would mean more than beating up on a Big Ten school in a mid-tier bowl. Stanford is 2-1 in Sun Bowl, most recently losing to Oklahoma 31-27 in 2009.

But Barnett’s consistent pressure finally paid off, and now he is the record that all newcomers at the University of Tennessee will shoot for.

Even so, Armstrong, like Westerkamp, departs with his name tattooed on the school’s record book. The Cornhuskers still hit some big plays which led to most of their 24 points, but today the Vol defense did too.
