In recent years it also unveiled and displayed at military parades a new road-mobile ICBM, known as the KN-08 or Hwasong-13.

Since winning the United States presidential election, Trump has not indicated he will abandon the Obama administration’s policy of isolating North Korea. Meanwhile, direct messaging from Pyongyang – both through the Foreign Ministry memo and Kim’s address – suggests that if a Trump administration wants to discuss anything with North Korea, regular U.S.

And the North’s other top adversary – South Korea – is dealing with political turmoil, as President Park Geun-hye was recently impeached.
