‘Celebrity Apprentice’ without Trump proves to be a ratings disappointment

The NBC show first began with President-elect Donald Trump hosting the competition.

Are these the celebrities stepping inside the Celebrity Big Brother house? They were unfocused and made too many mistakes. Still, this is a pretty underwhelming start for the rebooted Celebrity Apprentice which, to drum up interest, kept Schwarzenegger’s catch phrase under wraps until the premiere broadcast.

ET caught up with the former California governor in November, where he dished on taking on Trump’s famous role as the 70-year-old businessman takes on the Oval Office. When Tyra meets with the men, Caron Kressley asks her to give him a makeover so the rest of their team can see what she is doing.

The show’s 16 celebrities were divided into teams along gender lines.

And in a you-can’t-make-this-up moment, following the premiere, a new game show called “The Wall”, also premiered.

The special two-hour premiere – going up against the season premiere of “The Bachelor” on ABC – marked the debut of Schwarzenegger and his gargantuan piece of furniture, replacing Trump and his table. Watching the guys attempt to place make-up on the faces of women was absolutely HILARIOUS! Unfortunately for Schwarzenegger, the ratings seem to indicate that fans aren’t waiting for him to say “I’ll be back”.

And the TIME has come, the BOARDROOM theatrics. She suggests the name vagina, the women dismiss her and decide on Lisa’s choice of Prima. However, Arnold put Carrie on the spot for her performance and Porsha ran with it. YouTuber Carrie Keagan lost this round and left the show.

“You’re terminated”, Schwarzenegger said before adding “Hasta la vista, baby“. And they’re not just heading to the elevator; they are heading to the chopper.

The second task of the night consisted of the teams creating an original song and video for Trident.

What did you think of all the drama? “Kevin Can Wait” (1.4), “Man with a Plan” (1.2), “2 Broke Girls” (1.3), “The Odd Couple” (1.0), and “Scorpion” (1.2) all performed at least equal or better to most-recent episodes.

Back to the boardroom, Arnold saw friction emerge with the women’s team as Leslie voiced her opinion against the concept.
