Jurgen Klopp says Adam Lallana has made “outstanding” progress at Liverpool, considering “nobody was really happy” after his first year at the club.
Jurgen Klopp has stated that Philippe Coutinho and Loris Karius could feature in Liverpool’s EFL Cup semi-final against Southampton.
Although Coutinho has only just resumed training following an ankle injury, Klopp does not think the setback will take away any of the interest in his star player.
Klopp also revealed that he’ll name his strongest side for the game so we should see wholesale changes at the back with Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan all returning and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Lucas Leiva and Joe Gomez dropping out.
Klopp said he is good to go, and he will take his normal spot in the line-up with Clyne, Lovren and Klavan.
A shortage of fit bodies at the start of 2016 led to Klopp recalling the player. “If Daniel is fit, are there any arguments here ever about his quality? No”.
Now, his return to full fitness could prove to be perfectly timed. If not, we have another three days to prepare him for United.
He is also confident that Coutinho could play a role in today’s clash but is not sure if the Brazil global could then recover to feature in the Premier League against Manchester United on Sunday.
“A few minutes for him does make sense”.
Dubliner Graham Carey admits that Plymouth’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool in the FA Cup “wasn’t pretty” but the game was all about getting a replay for the League Two side.
And the former Borussia Dortmund boss also admitted he wished clubs interested in Coutinho, and any other of his other players for that matter, would have been put off by injuries sustained by their targets. Cleverness.Everything you need on the pitch is absolutely outstanding. It remains to be seen how that one plays out, but I think we all know what usually happens.
Lucas Leiva doesn’t want to continue as a backup, even though it will cause him huge grief to leave Liverpool after nine and a half years.
