The poll found that 52 percent of Americans believe the real estate mogul is not qualified to serve as President, with only 15 percent of those surveyed voicing “a great deal of confidence” that he will make the right decisions. Those who voted for Trump believe unconventional is what is needed to run the country, but some believe unconventional will not work in a democracy.
According to the poll, 48 percent of those surveyed believe Mr. Trump will be a “very poor” or “fairly poor” president – the same percentage that say he’ll be a “very good” or “fairly good” president.
The tweeting itself hasn’t endeared Trump to many Americans. Nixon ended up with lower approval-but Trump is not president yet, so he still has time to break that record. That change falls within the poll’s margin of sampling error and is not statistically significant.
