January 21 06:30 2017

Today, Melania Trump, wife of soon-to-be president Donald Trump, becomes the new first lady of the United States. The incoming first lady paired the structured jacket with pointed stilettos and leather gloves to complete the monochromatic look.

The speculation of who’s dressing Melania has gotten the fashion world in a frenzy, as all eyes will be on her come 20 January.

Melania was dressed by Ralph Lauren and looked elegant and stately.

The choice by Trump to wear a Lauren-designed dress on Inauguration Day comes as some designers have spoken publicly about being conflicted over whether to dress the incoming first lady.

“I say give my father a chance”, she added.

Prior to the inauguration, Melania Trump’s wardrobe was a much-discussed topic, as several major fashion designers publicy refused to dress the new FLOTUS. Like many fans of the style icon, Trump has expressed her admiration for Kennedy in the past.

The mystery of who would dress Melania Trump on inauguration day has been solved. I don’t care. It doesn’t matter.

Melania shimmered in gold at the dinner. She presented Michelle Obama with a box from the jeweler whose flagship store is just steps from Trump Tower.

At a pre-inauguration reception Thursday night, though, Trump wore something a bit less predictable: a long-sleeve, gold form-fitting gown by Reem Acra.

The businesswoman chose another Oscar de la Renta design for the evening’s festivities.
