Meanwhile, the Women’s March Global webpage stipulates that it “is a proactive worldwide movement, not a USA election-specific protest per se”.

The Saskatoon event’s official Facebook page said the march was a response to the “hate-inciting, divisive, discriminatory attitudes, messages and actions that emerged and have been normalized in political discourse around the globe”.

Sorry, Trump, but these Women’s March crowds are YUGE.

When the driver of one bus mentioned the women’s march as he pulled into Washington from NY on Thursday, a woman shouted from the back, “That’s why we’re here!” and cheers erupted through the aisles.

Organizers behind the Women’s March on Washington – the center point of the marches – say their event could attract as many as 200,000 participants.

Thousands of women are descending upon Washington for what is expected to be an orderly show of force on the first full day of Donald Trump’s presidency. The London march is expected to be among the biggest outside the United States, with thousands of protesters attending from noon. There were early signs across the city that the crowds could top those that gathered on Friday to watch Trump’s inauguration.

Since then, the march has grown to encompass human rights issues beyond women’s issues, including immigration and the treatment of Muslims and the LGBT community.

Protesters march, in support of the Women’s March on Washington, in Toronto on Saturday. She has never participated in a demonstration before.

New Zealand and Australia were among the first countries in the world where women took to the streets. A rally associated with the march was slated for between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The overflow crowds are also happening in Washington, D.C. where so many have turned up that it’s proving hard to actually march. Some 53 percent of white women voted for Trump, and many said his demeaning comments mattered less to them than their belief that he had the independence, temperament and business experience to bring about change.
