Trump Signs Executive Order To Begin Border Wall Construction

January 25 23:59 2017

President Trump claimed that his immigration executive orders would save billions of dollars.

US President Donald Trump yesterday was set to take a first step toward enacting his pledge to “build a wall” on the Mexican border as he rolls out a series of immigration-related decrees.

However, more funding will be needed, and where that money will come from remains a big question. Specifically, Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto is reportedly considering cancelling his planned trip to meet with Trump, and Mexico’s former president Vicente Fox directed a line he’s used before towards White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

But Connecticut Republican Party Chairman JR Romano said “illegal immigration is not a victimless crime”, citing both immigrants and American citizens can be adversely impacted. “We are going to get them out, and we are going to get them out fast”.

“There are a lot of people, a lot of Latino people, that are supporting him in regards to his immigration policies and are happy that he’s starting right away to do the things that he said he would do”, Veiga said.

Hurd, who campaigned on the promise of standing up to Trump and this week called on the new president to release his tax returns, said it is “impossible” to build a physical wall in the rough terrain of his district.

“It takes three hours to cross the border, three hours”, she said. From here on out, I’m asking all of you to enforce the laws of the United States of America. “The people they don’t think about how it’s hard- Our life in Mexico”.

You can get a sense of the scale of the undertaking in the below video from the Intercept. And it’s really expensive. “So it’s hard, it’s hard for people”. Also, the United States can not secure the border without our southern neighbor. “All it does is divide communities that historically have been very closely linked”.

Trump has already faced major opposition to the wall-even from within his own cabinet.

RAICES attorneys believe the long-term impact of a wall will be negative.

The first order, he explained, is the border security and immigration enforcement improvements.

He also called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States” until authorities can better screen those who come into the country.

“A nation without borders is not a nation”, the president declared.

When Muir asked how soon he plans to begin constructing the wall, Trump responded, “as soon as we can, as soon as we can physically do it“, he said. “The criminals, and the drug dealers, and gangs and gang members and cartel leaders”. “President Trump and I agree-we must secure the border”.

“The Secretary of State, in conjunction with the Secretary of Defence, is directed within 90 days to produce a plan to provide safe areas in Syria and in the surrounding region in which Syrian nationals displaced from their homeland can await firm settlement, such as repatriation or potential third-country resettlement”, the draft order says.
