Cummings: Trump’s voting fraud claims ‘nonsense’

January 31 05:16 2017

A man that President Donald Trump referenced on voter fraud appeared on CNN Friday, but he didn’t show any proof of fraud, saying that it will be released in due time.

But, in the end, Trump will be president because he won 304 electoral votes and he will have lost the popular vote by almost three million.

Trump and the White House have repeatedly stuck by his claim, despite not presenting any evidence to back it up.

As of Saturday afternoon, Trump had yet to sign the executive order for the vote fraud investigation. That people are registered in multiple states or still registered after their death is not evidence of fraud at all.

Trump must be the biggest sore victor in the history of American politics. “We need a national ID that travels with people”.

PHILLIPS: As soon as we get done with the checks.

And, oh, by the way, Trump has pointed out, none of those illegal voters cast ballots for him.

Phillips told the Daily News shortly after Trump’s tweet that he found the shout-out “humbling”.

The claim from Phillips came just days after the election before nearly every state was able to even certify the votes from the November election.

If there were evidence, the states would investigate and punish anyone who is convicted of wrongdoing. Maybe I’ll escape the Trump inquisition, as presumably will his daughter, son-in-law, a Cabinet member and a strategist – all of whom also have been registered in two states simultaneously. “How many of those are actually voting in more than one state at the same time, which is, of course, illegal? But from everything we know already, the prevalence of that is extremely low, extraordinarily low”. Most instances of alleged voter fraud are instead clerical errors made by election officials. By all means, let’s streamline voter registration to have accurate voter rolls.

Husted says he can’t speak for other states, but, in OH, he says it is “easy to vote and hard to cheat”. “Again, we don’t know because there’s never been any systematic check of that”.

“Having done this and worked with other people who’ve done this, it would be very early to do a comprehensive study of all the voters who voted in November”, says Becker. He voted only in Alabama in November, records s.

It’s 180 degrees from how Republican Richard Nixon treated credible allegations of voter fraud in IL and Texas after he barely lost to John F. Kennedy in 1960. “Obviously somebody forged their signature, somebody forged their ballot”, he said.

Thursday, Spicer dangled the idea of a tax on Mexican imports to fund the border wall during a gaggle; the press spent the afternoon trying to figure if Trump was going to go start a tariff war or back a different tax.

Foley doesn’t believe non-citizen voting is the biggest concern ahead of the next presidential election in 2020. In the end, Trump’s bogus claim will likely result in more unnecessary voter ID laws and any other measures Republicans can get away with. “At the time of November’s presidential election, Phillips” status was “inactive’ in MS and suspended in Texas”. “Many folks haven’t been complying with that law, and the Obama administration knowingly and intentionally refused to enforce that provision”.

“Oftentimes, the voter is completely unaware that they are registered in two states”, Hebert said. He committed voter registration fraud, but not voter fraud – the dog obviously wasn’t going to show up to vote. The fourth involved an election worker in Florida counting absentee ballots who was arrested after she filled in bubbles for a Republican mayoral candidate. “That’s not being done in many, many states”.

This raises the point of who should vote? Von Spakovsky said it’s exactly the opposite. Will this lead to proposals that will make it more hard for certain people to register and vote?

He added, “This effort will actually help the poor”.
