Samsung to Showcase the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017 Later This Month

Apple Inc. and its South Korean archrival Samsung Electronics Co. will roll out their latest tablet PCs in the first half of this year amid a prolonged slump in global sales, market watchers said Thursday.

It looks like Samsung isn’t pulling any punches on the Samsung Galaxy S8. The device later get the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 update, which is also later set for the other 2015 model as well. Today’s rumors provide us even more details. On the invite (or picture), a silhouette of a tablet can be seen with Samsung’s signature home button.

Where does that leave the alleged Iris scanner, front camera and microphone? The same report further reveals that Samsung still managed to keep its top position when the entire year is considered, with Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo coming in at third, fourth and fifth respectively.

If you were holding out hope for Samsung to announce the Galaxy S8 at Mobile World Congress in Spain later this month, then you’re not going to like this news. We can see the curved edge display and the 3.5mm audio jack which is surprising as there were speculations that Samsung might remove it.

Dimension wise, the Galaxy S8 will measure 143x132x65 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will measure 155x142x70. However, due to the Galaxy Note 7 battery issues, the S8 has always been under impression of being delayed than the speculated date, which usually is sometime around February at the Mobile World Conference (MWC).
