Following reports of desynchronization issues with the Nintendo Switch‘s Joy-Con controllers, many would-be Switch owners were holding out hope that the issues would be fixed with the console’s day one patch.
This morning brought the disheartening and flabbergasting news that Nintendo was bringing its hated Friend Code system to the Switch when it launches tomorrow.
The Nintendo Switch has arrived for those who feel that mobile gaming is lacking in analog joysticks and buttons. Some customers of GAME, the United Kingdom equivalent to GameStop, are apparently being informed that their Switch pre-orders are being canceled. (I’m sorry, Nintendo.) Over the last 30 years of my life, I’ve definitely tasted plastic things before, but none of them have had the intense, bitter flavor that the Switch cartridge had. Multiple reports online about order delays are starting to appear.
Another video shows what it’s like to start up the Switch for the first time.
The March 3 Nintendo Switch official release date is just around the corner and fans will expect games to play on it.
Friend codes can be entered by accessing your user profile on the console. You can also add friends you’ve previously met through Nintendo’s mobile ventures. Today, the app is available to download for both major platforms, namely iOS and Android. However, even while docked to a TV, the UI still renders at 720p. Nintendo also plans on doing the same for the Wii U and 3DS NNID provided that the same are also connected to their accounts. News collects information about those games (trailers, announcements, behind-the-scenes info) and updates from Nintendo in one easy-to-find place.
