That’s exactly what happened with this political analyst at a South Korean university, Dr Robert E.Kelly who was discussing the impeachment of South Korea’s President Park Geun-hye.
Professor Robert Kelly’s wife reaches desperately for the door after removing their children from the room.
But as Kelly was interviewed from his home, his two two young children made an unexpected appearance.
The two children are joined momentarily by a woman, who bolts dramatically into the room, bending to seize the two children and jerking them towards the passage.
As the children were heard wailing in the background, Prof Kelly smiled, apologised and continued his segment. “Is this kinda thing that goes “viral” and gets weird?”
But the youngsters did not go quietly, and Prof Kelly, though trying to remain professional throughout the episode, shut his eyes at one point in apparent frustration. Then, in a slapstick moment worthy of Buster Keaton, a woman burst through the door after the kids.
“I think one of your children just walked in“, the presenter informs Kelly.
Broadcaster James Mernendez wrapped up the interview saying, “there’s a first time for everything”. The interviewee attempts to nudge his child out of the way and continue on with the interview, unsuccessfully.
“Pardon me”, Kelly manages to squeak out on camera as he can’t help but giggle at the oddness of it all.
It’s a little different when you’re an expert doing a live interview for the BBC.
Shortly after, a Twitter user asked Professor Kelly if he could share the interview.
