Arsenal fans’ frustration with Arsene Wenger is understandable – Petit

Your opinion may count.

Ozil, back in action for Arsenal this week following a recent illness layoff, has scored nine goals and set up a further seven in 31 appearances this season.

Some Arsenal fans have protested that Wenger should be replaced, and the manager has admitted that the opinion of supporters will have a bearing on whether he signs a new contract. A large number of them seem to have had it with Wenger, although some still wants him to stay beyond the end of the season. “That’s what I work for”. I am competitive and always focused on solving the problems I face.

Theo Walcott has urged his team mates to stop fighting amongst themselves after it British media reported Alexis Sanchez had a heated verbal exchange with Laurent Koscielny last week after the Chile winger allegedly walked out of a training session.

“We can show how united we are”.

“I accept he’s been paid well, but the loyalty of 21 years should mean something”.

“We produced a good performance today”.

And despite suffering more Champions League disappointment, with the 10-2 aggregate last-16 defeat to Bayern Munich, Ozil still dreams of the day the north London side conquer Europe.

He said: “He’s invited us in for a coke so we’ll go in there and try to learn some more”. But these cup games bring opportunities for bigger clubs because they would probably be prioritised less by the manager than a Champions League knockout game. After that, the only thing I can say is that personally I rate him highly.

Wenger had better hope that his Arsenal side can pick up their form at the Hawthorns on Saturday, otherwise the Albion curse could strike again.

Hoping to win the FA Cup a seventh time in his 21-year reign, Wenger could yet end one of his most hard seasons with silverware. This season we’ve seen Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jeff Reine-Adelaide in numerous cup games so maybe we’ll see them in around the Arsenal first team on a regular basis in the near future.

Non-league Lincoln City’s astonishing run in the FA Cup came to an end on Saturday as Arsenal remained on course for a 13th title by reaching the semi-finals.
