NCAA Tournament: Most likely Cinderellas at each seed

March 17 12:30 2017

The A10 has seen considerable success in the NCAA Tournament in recent years, a reason for those in the Ocean State to be optimistic.

SMU has to get past the play-in game victor between Providence and USC, and we’ve seen those teams coming out of Dayton continue with momentum on Thursday or Friday. However, first a note. The first game in Las Vegas was epic.

Second, after Yale pulled off a first round upset of Baylor, their second round matchup against Duke gave the internet its funniest pre-game roast session ever. Now they are back to being called first round games.

Anyways, I am always available for discussion on here or Twitter.

For example, Villanova University, the number eight seed upset the number one seed, Georgetown University in 1985. However, we won’t be recommending any seed lower than a No. 3 to win it all because that nearly never happens. When the season progresses into the playoffs, there are only three to four teams that have a shot of winning the championship. The result was a 43-41 Princeton win.

On the men’s side, Obama likes top-seeded North Carolina prevailing in a championship-game edition of the Tobacco Road rivalry, over No. 2 seed Duke.

Fact: It has only happened once before (2008), two fewer times than when no No. 1 overall seed has been at the Final Four. Regardless if both free throws are made, you’d have about 10-15 seconds to run a play and potentially tie or win the game. Some even opened giving No. 2 seed Duke the best odds before switching to the Tar Heels. Late in the game, the Commodores took the lead on a Riley LaChance drive to the hoop, giving Vandy a 1 point lead. These 64 teams are in and no one can take that away from them. The celebration did not last long as Florida clipped the Wildcats by eight in the second round.

Marial Shayok added a career-high 23 points off the bench on 8-for-14 shooting, while Darius Thompson ended with 10 for Virginia, which advanced to face the victor of the Florida v East Tennessee State battle. Washington is Obama’s wild-card choice as it is ranked No. 12. Since then, four of the past five NCAA Tournament winners lost right before the brackets were released. An air from the three-point line was caught by a teammate and dunked in before the buzzer sounded. “How about that? I bet no other coach here has been fishing”. “That’s unbelievable. I wish every dad in America could have that opportunity; what I just experienced with my son”. So in conclusion, I would like to wish everyone good luck on their bracket, and I hope that you didn’t pick a 16th seed to win it all. Little Hampton, the tournament champions of the MEAC seemed no match for Big 12 power Iowa State. FGCU, which is based in Fort Myers (full of Canadian snowbirds), likely will have more fan support in Orlando vs. FSU and certainly would for a Round of 32 game vs. either No. 6 Maryland or No. 11 Xavier, two teams that struggled down the stretch. “They’ve been through tough games“.

After all the noise of conference calls, NCAA tournament bracket rings true
