Leishman was short of the green with his second shot at 18, but pitched the ball three feet from the cup and tapped in the tense par putt to reach the clubhouse one ahead of Kisner.
It was another Australian who claimed the title, with Marc Leishman booking an 11th-hour Masters berth with a one-shot victory. He finished 72 holes at 7-under 281. Day finished 24th in the field in strokes gained putting, which is good, but it’s not quite up to Day’s (recent) expectations. “It could have gone the other way”. I want to do it well, but it makes it less important.
“But I feel like all year it’s been really close and I just haven’t played how I wanted to on Sundays”.
He commented: “It’s always hard, but we all try to peak for the first week in April at Augusta, and I certainly seem to be trending in the right direction at the moment”.

“You can see how everybody is carrying his name, wearing the umbrella, trying to emulate him”, Grillo said. “Hopefully I can be in with a shout and then if I get off to a fast start tomorrow, I can be right in there, so I just have to keep it going”.
“So I read it and I was over that putt and I actually remembered that I hit that putt, so I backed off, took another practice swing and adjusted my read”, he said.
