Arsenal set asking price for Sanchez as interest grows

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Arsenal will only accept bids of at least £50 million if they decide to try and cash in on Alexis Sanchez this summer.

I played with older people all the time – many of whom I really liked.

Rivals Chelsea have been linked with a move for a player in the summer who, Campbell believes, could have easily fitted into Arsenal’s 2003/04 side that were called “Invincibles”.

Asked if he’ll remain at Arsenal until the end of the season, the striker said: “I’m happy in London, I hope I can finish my contract at Arsenal“.

Arsenal could struggle to hold onto Sanchez but could also benefit from a fight for his services between many of Europe’s grandest clubs.

“I’d like to stay in a city for a long time, in a team that is a victor, with winning mentality”.

Arsenal were branded a huge joke when they sold Van Persie to Manchester United and things got worse for the Gunners when he won the Premier League with them in his very first season.

His contract is up in 2018, so come June he will be in a strong position to force a move through if the club is not up to the standards he expects. In a ideal world, he would stay at Arsenal in the long term and sign his new deal. The Chilean’s future has seemed murky at best since the UEFA Champions League elimination at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Manager Arsene Wenger will be desperate to see Sanchez continue his breathtaking form against Man City on Sunday, in a match they must win to stay in touch with the top four.

Campbell crossed the North London divide when moving from Tottenham to Arsenal, while more recently Petr Cech swapped Chelsea for Arsenal.
