Galaxy S8 Facial recognition can be bypassed with a photo

Just look through the various forum threads over on Android Central and you’ll bound to come across many that are now pitting Samsung’s latest against the LG G6. This was three months after the smartphone’s first launched at U.S. carriers.

Still, as Samsung handset problems go, it’s kind of a small one compared to last year’s. It has been reported that the company is seeking to redeem itself after the Galaxy Note 7 disaster which led to the recall of the phablet due to the catching fire. “In the near future, the Bixby and Google Assistant will be found inside a single device and compete with each other”, an industry watcher said. It’s interesting that Microsoft’s virtual assistant would be included given that these two new handsets are the big debut of Samsung’s Bixby.

SAMSUNG had a very rough year so far, but with the arrival of its sleek new flagship phone, things might be looking up. In Apple’s latest update, Siri can interact with other apps, like order an Uber, but users still have to physically touch the phone at some part in the process to complete the order. It’s just one of a few options Samsung will employ to let users unlock their devices.

Another vital aspect of this S8 is that the physical home button has been removed because of the ever-diminishing bezel area.

The debacle cost the South Korean company billions of dollars in lost profit and hammered its global reputation and credibility, during a torrid period when it has also been embroiled in a corruption scandal.

Yesterday, we had a look at the phone’s specifications and features, including the new digital assistant in Bixby, and the more intriguing pseudo computer functionality afforded by DeX, the nifty dock that’ll house the phone.

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with a 5.8-inch display screen with 1440 x 2960 resolution. Both S8 smartphones will have flat screens. Both are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for U.S. markets and Exynos 8895 Octa for markets in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Both models are available in midnight black or orchid gray.
