Microsoft’s Project Scorpio Set for Thursday Reveal

April 06 00:49 2017

In addition earlier this week we’ve seen a report which stats that Microsoft will announce more details about Project Scorpio this week.

“To clear up the speculation: @digitalfoundry will have an exclusive Xbox Scorpio reveal on @eurogamer this Thursday at 2pm United Kingdom / 6am Pacific”, tweeted Digital Foundry on Tuesday.

This time, it also seems like Microsoft is focusing on the games since Xbox boss Phil Spencer stressed the importance of preparing first-party games at launch, as per GameSpot.

According to several sources Microsoft is set to unveil some Project Scorpio-related news this week.

Whether or not the system will achieve the 6 teraflops and 8 CPU core promise, Corden says it will. “Sounds like it’ll run most games at native 4K no problem w/ room to spare for other visual [improvements]”. While PlayStation 4 Pro’s computing power is measured at 4.2 teraflops, Microsoft is targeting 6 teraflops for Scorpio to deliver true 4K gaming.

We don’t know how comprehensive this reveal will be, but we’ll probably learn the console’s official name and get some specs. There has certainly been much talk of exclusives these past few weeks, so it should come as no surprise that Microsoft will use the all but confirmed Forza Motorsport 7 as its main title for Project Scorpio. Microsoft is expected to launch this marvel of engineering later this year and as its release date draws nearer, more details are emerging about this console. The site is best known for its in-depth technical breakdowns of console hardware and graphical comparisons of games between platforms. However the tag of “most powerful” should be taken with a pinch of salt before going into the official specs, which should only be released during the time of the unveiling of the console itself.

The listing reiterates the fact that there will be no exclusive content for Project Scorpio. Reports claimed that all titles coming into Xbox Scorpio will also be available on Xbox One, but with lower resolution.
