Light Heavyweight Champ Daniel Cormier Address UFC 210 Weigh-in Controversy

April 07 23:03 2017

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Saturday’s light heavyweight championship fight and UFC 210 main event between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson is official, although it has already fallen under some controversy.

So it seems like Cormier has been very vocal leading up to UFC 210.

Mousasi remains one of the most risky strikers in the division and has seemed to step into his UFC prime in his last few fights. In their last fight, Cormier was dropped by a Johnson right hand shortly after the fight began but went on to win by submission.

He has fought 17 times in the UFC and has a win percentage of only 71 per cent. His previous bout was a second-round KO of fourth-ranked contender Jimi Manuwa, and all three finishes earned him a Performance of the Night bonus from the UFC. Rumble can come out and make this a slug fest and not allow Cormier to grapple. Mousasi does a great job of staying calm under pressure, but Weidman can keep up his intensity, get Mousasi backing up and explode for a takedown. “So that will be interesting, I’ve got a lot of stuff to say”.

“DC” has since made a successful defence against Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 192 and then won a non-title match against the legendary Anderson Silva at UFC 200.

“I see myself as the underdog”, Johnson said. “I just wanted to make sure I didn’t show my junk”. I won’t have him going and nicking my title shot’.

Preliminary fights where Mr. Lausa will be in are broadcast as early as 6:15 a.m.

“Ok, I didn’t see it”.

Weidman, a Baldwin, New York native, took trips to Buffalo back when the UFC was not yet legalized in New York State. “He’s so good at every aspect of fighting, but for him to have done the things he has done, to limit the history that he was making, it’s insane, it’s sad”.

“The guy [Jones] is the most talented human being I have ever competed against”, he added. UFC’s two faces of the company may not fight inside the cage this year: Ronda Rousey’s career is in limbo in the wake of two straight losses and Conor McGregor seems more obsessed with lacing up boxing gloves for a circus bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. than defending his lightweight title.
