Westbrook sets triple-double record, Thunder beat Nuggets

Starting today, two of the Nuggets’ last three games are against the Thunder. If they lose, they are out.

But even this terrible performance featured plenty of the spectacle that always comes along with The Russell Westbrook Experience. The Thunder come into the mile high city after a dismantling at the hands of the Phoenix Suns.

Westbrook fell short of setting the National Basketball Association record for triple-doubles in a season, managing 23 points and 12 rebounds but only eight assists in a 120-99 loss to the Suns on Friday.

As I have mentioned, the margin of error is now zero, and Denver is on its ninth life. While the Blazers have been red-hot as of late, Denver is only one game back in the loss column while Portland still has a matchup looming against the Spurs. It will be interesting to see which players elevate their game during these moments and which ones fade.
